Packed full of laughs and loves\, music and mayhem\, Half Cut bring their trademark joy to this raucous journey which will delight the whole family. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nABOUT HALF CUT \n\n\n\nHalf Cut Theatre was formed in 2020 by actors James Camp\, George Readshaw and Alex Wilson in direct response to the devastating impact the Covid-19 pandemic had had – and continues to have – on the live performing arts industries. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWe are committed to creating theatre that is accessible\, surprising and timely with plenty of heart\, humour\, music and narrative drive. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSince September 2020 we have staged and toured six productions: A Midsummer Night’s Dream: The Hour\, The Canterbury Tales at Christmas\, Twelth Night\, Treasure Island\, A Christmas Carol and Much Ado About \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nNothing. DESCRIPTION:Directed by Mike Ward \n\n\n\n\n\nMoonhawk Productions presents The Pillowman\, a jet-black comedy-drama about storytelling\, freedom of speech\, and the responsibility of a writer in a totalitarian state. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWritten by multi-award winning writer and filmmaker Martin McDonagh\, this hilarious\, brutal and thought-provoking play follows Katurian\, a writer of short stories\, who is interrogated by Tupolski and Ariel after deaths described in his stories seem to have been recreated by a real killer. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbingdon based Moonhawk welcomes anyone interested in all aspects of theatre production on or backstage. The play will be performed at several locations. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDirected by Mike Ward\, The Pillowman combines amazing onstage performances with web cam streaming and video footage to visualise the interrogation scenes and the violence\, without putting the actors in real danger. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nI caught the drama bug over 10 years ago and have been acting\, directing and stage managing ever since. More recently I’ve entered the world of producing\, hence Moonhawk Productions. We’re based in Abingdon-on-Thames and we use several locations to put on our diverse types of drama. We operate an “open door” policy meaning that anyone can be part of Moonhawk – on stage\, back stage\, production and front of house”. In the summer Leon toured his own solo hit show.  \nLeon Witcomb\, Founder\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nI first saw a student production of The Pillowman many years ago\, having known Martin McDonagh’s writing through working on a couple of his Irish plays. Notable as the first cinematic interpretation of Bram Stoker’s Dracula\, its combination of expressionistic acting and unforgettable images render it just as powerful and unsettling today as when it first thrilled cinema goers 100 years ago.Chris Green’s new score was commissioned by English Heritage for a live outdoor screening of the film at Dracula’s spiritual home of Whitby Abbey. The music is a haunting blend of electronic and acoustic instruments performed live by the composer and\, combined with FW Murnau’s iconic images\, makes for a genuinely remarkable and unique cinematic experience.
