An extract from their exciting new work ‘Body Ecologies: Beyond the Human’ and a rare chance to see US artist Julie Becton Gillum in ‘Dusk’. With live music from Malcolm Atkins. Butoh is a radical dance form, originating in post-war Japan and committed to expressing in movement ‘the hidden darkness of the body’. Audiences find it mysterious, dramatic and sometimes funny.
